Competitions
Schedule
Conditions of Competition
·
Competitors must enter
their name in the competition book and pay the appropriate competition fee
before commencing play.
·
Competitors must
have an Official Handicap e.g
CONGU, EGA, USGA etc.
·
Competitors may
only participate in a competition within the designated times as set down by
the committee.
·
Competitors must
comply with the conditions as posted in relation to the use of buggies.
·
Competitors
should only enter competitions for which they are eligible as outlined in the
Fixture List.
·
Competitions will
be played under Rules of Golf and the Local Rules of Forrest Little Golf Club
(on scorecard).
·
Competitors
should write clearly in pen and ensure, full name, date, handicap and
competition are clearly written on the card and also ensure cards are signed by
competitor and marker before returning.
·
All competition
cards must be returned for handicap purposes.
·
Illegible cards
will not be considered for prizes.
·
Cards must be
returned within 20 minutes of completion of the round.
·
Cards returned
more than 20 minutes after play for the day has finished will not be considered
eligible for prizes.
·
Competitors must comply with all notices posted by the club in the
interests of course protection.
Timesheet & Tee Protocol
Availability of
Timesheet
· All timesheets will be on BRS
· All club competitions will be available for booking
online at least two weeks in advance on the Friday at 6pm (March - October 3pm)
· Open competitions will be available to members at
least three weeks in advance and to visitors two weeks in advance.
· Names of three players may be booked on club singles
timesheets.
· Names of four players may be booked on club fourballs,
foursomes & team events timesheets.
· No guest
booking will be allowed on club events.
· Semi Open & Invitation events can book members name + guests(1..3) depending on the format of
competition.
· Members can book on all Open timesheets via Members
button on www.forrestlittle.com.
· Members can book guests
on Open timesheets.
· Members should cancel bookings when not available to play
to facilitate other members.
Format of Play
· Singles & Foursomes will be played in three balls
at alternating 7 & 8 minute intervals.
· Fourballs and Team events will be played at
alternating 8 & 9 minute intervals.
· Wednesday competitions will be played in fours at
alternating 8 & 9 minute interval
Check In
· Players should check in and pay at least 15 minutes in
advance of tee time.
· Failure to check in 15 mins in advance risks losing
playing slot
· No entitlement exists to play before or after booked tee
time.
· No extra games will be “squeezed in” unless time
available on the timesheet.
· Early arrivals, late arrivals or not on timesheet will
be waitlisted and accommodated by the Pro Shop in sequence where slots come
free or others fail to show.
No Show
· On the day of competition, Pro Shop will substitute
for no shows
· No shows on the day will be noted.
· Persistent no shows (more that twice) may lead to
suspension from timesheet access.
Order of Play
· Order of play is as per booked BRS timesheet.
· When no timesheet in use order of play is as per ball
in chute.
· Players must check in, pay competition fee and prepare
to play before placing a ball in the chute.
· For singles two players must be present on the tee and
ready to tee off before placing a ball in the chute.
· For fourballs, foursomes or team events, three players
must be present on the tee before placing a ball in the chute.
· Card numbers have no priority on the tee
Starter when
present
· Order of play is as per booked BRS timesheet.
· Failure to present on the tee to the Starter in time
for tee off may result in loss of tee slot.
· The Starter will make all efforts to keep the tee busy
and the timesheet running to time.
· The Starter when present may switch the order to keep
play moving.
· The Starter has absolute final discretion as to order
of play.
Prizes
& Presentations
· Sponsored, major event, (Captains, Vice
Captains, Presidents and Professionals) open, semi-open and invitation
presentations will take place on the day.
· Prizes not collected at prize presentations
will be held in the competitions room for a period of two weeks. No responsibility
is taken for prizes after two weeks.
· GUI vouchers not collected will be left
behind the bar.
· Contact one of Michael Denihan, Peter
Duffy, Padraic Robinson, Seamus McCabe, Willie Ryan, Seamus Guiden, Des Farrell
or Brendan Renwick to collect prizes.
BRS
and 9 Hole Competitions
The committee have decided to continue the use of the BRS
booking system until the end of December 2010. Should weather disrupt a
competition causing significant delays then the BRS timesheet will be suspended
and the order of play will be decided by the ProShop and use of the "ball
in chute" system.
Use of BRS will be discontinued for Jan and Feb 2011
and resume in March 2011.
When 9 hole competitions are being played in winter
play, shots will be allocated to players where they have them eg a 9 handicap
golfer will receive 5 shots on the front nine and 4 on the back nine in all
circumstances.
